ASAP at the ELIV trade fair

The ASAP Group presented new approaches for the automotive industry at the international congress for vehicle electronics ELIV from October 16 to 17, 2024 in Bonn. The ASAP experts gave insights into the Process Automation Kit PAK developed by ASAP at the World Conference Center Bonn. This simplifies data migration from an ALM source system to an ALM target system such as Codebeamer. PAK significantly reduces the complexity of the entire process by automating and standardizing recurring tasks and ensuring a high level of traceability of the results. As such, PAK is a useful addition to common DevOps methods. The focus at the ELIV in Bonn was also on a comprehensive test system developed by ASAP for test benches in the areas of model-in-the-loop (MiL) to hardware-in-the-loop (HiL) and vehicle testing. The ASAP Testsphere, based on a modular and scalable keyword-driven framework, helps to ensure that new software requirements for automobiles can be validated much more quickly and cost-effectively than before. This is primarily achieved by standardizing the test design process and decoupling it from the existing tool landscape, allowing customers to continue using their familiar systems.

ASAP at the ELIV Bonn

As with other ASAP projects, numerous ASAP experts from different divisions have worked or are working together on PAK and the ASAP Testsphere. Specialists from the Software and Electrics/Electronics divisions have developed the ASAP Testsphere over several years and are also responsible for end-to-end test management for customers and the respective test design.

The collaboration combines ASAP's agility and flexibility in automotive engineering with HCLTech's extensive expertise, resources and global network. With its 1,700 employees at nine locations in Germany, ASAP offers comprehensive development services as an independent subsidiary of HCLTech with a focus on e-mobility, autonomous driving and connectivity. The IT group HCLTech in turn employs more than 225,000 people in more than 60 countries and, as an end-to-end development and integration partner, brings its 30 years of IT and software expertise from other industries to the automotive sector to develop customized solutions. At ELIV, for example, visitors were given an insight into a 3D laser scanning system developed by HCLTech for detecting obstacles and free spaces for autonomous vehicles, as well as an interactive driver monitoring system that warns of distractions and hazards in real time.
